Just in time for the evening session

6.11pm. The coach arrived back on campus at 5.20pm. Went up to my room, dumped the rucksack, put on some aftersun (my hands look extremely red in places), changed my top and went for dinner.

Dinner tonight consisted of cold ham with potatoes, to which I added a vegetarian tart, some pasta shells in a ratatoille-style sauce, a glass of orange juice and a chocolate brownie type thing with synthetic cream.

Feeling physically and mentally very tired. I've been up since 5.30am, I've been on my feet since 7am and this is the first time all day that I have sat down for longer than 20 minutes. In an hour I have to be in a classroom again for the post Activity C workshop. This session is likely to include some data analysis for the ecology sampling results that we collected. I have a feeling that there will be a question about this on the ECA so I will need to pay attention.

I do hope that tutor (Grey-Haired Dalek) isn't going to do her pip-squeeky shouting for the remaining hour, otherwise a short stay in Switzerland may be in order.

Just playing back some of the sound recordings from today, and as suspected, some of them are dominated by wind noise. I have done my best today to make prolific notes and to take plenty of photographs, so with luck anything that can be salvaged from the sound recordings will simply be a bonus.

What I did find frustrating today was the constant taking the workbook off the clipboard, turning pages in the howling wind, the pages getting creased, and then the workbook going back on the clipboard again. My Activity C workbook is a wreck frankly.

After I came back from dinner I bought an energy drink from McColls, basically to keep me awake long enough to get through the evening class.

When the coach left this morning it sailed past the East Slope Bar, and I realised that it's only about 100 yards away from Swanborough. Very handy, saves a trek across campus. Anyway tonight in the bar it's quiz night. I'm not sure if I am going to be feeling sociable enough for a quiz night after such an intense day. I might pop along for a pint to show my face, so that people don't think I'm being miserable.

I did have a look to see whether there were any of the optional tutorials that I fancy, but nothing grabbed me. I don't think they have been especially well publicised.
