21h52. Tonight I had a good bash in the kitchen and had a rare success. Shallow fried beef and chicken, with onion, red and green peppers and courgettes in a rogan josh sauce with rice, accompanied by garlic and cheese ciabatta... washed down with a few nice glasses of plonk (thank you Virgin Wines for delivering my case today), and a very nice key lime pie from Asda. I'm afraid you can blame 'Dexter' for making me want one; thanks to an episode a few weeks ago (As Easy As Pie) . It's not often I have the nerve to venture into the kitchen except to refill wine glasses but I'm really pleased with how it all turned out tonight.
Alan helped me pack, his military precision folding came in extremely useful. I had hoped to travel down tomorrow with one suitcase and my laptop bag, however on the first attempt we couldn't close the suitcase. So now I have one suitcase and one hand luggage case, both of which weigh an absolute ton.
Looks like I will be getting up around the usual time tomorrow, 6.40am or so, so that I am not rushing around. In order to leave myself plenty of time I will be leaving the house around 8am.
