By today I had still not received this confirmation, nor had I received my little stamped-addressed postcard through the letterbox, so I took the bull by the horns, and phoned the University.
I'm very glad that I did. They had no record that I had submitted my ECA, and recommended that I post off one of the photocopies that I doubtless kept. Fortunately for me I did still have a photocopy, two photocopies in fact. I'm glad that paranoia has had a practical purpose!
I also still have the Certificate of Posting from last Thursday when I posted the original off. At least that affords me some protection, I can prove that I posted my original in good time.
At lunchtime, I dashed out of the office, walked briskly to Birmingham International, and got a taxi to the shopping centre. I stood in line with a dozen other people, behind one particularly smelly chap who looked like he needed a good wash, and sent off my colour copy.
Taking no chances I decided to send this version by Guaranteed Next Day Delivery, particularly as the deadline is tomorrow. Having spent a lot of money doing SXR103, it's a small price to pay to make sure that my assessment is received on time.
I managed to get to the Post Office and back to work again within 45 minutes, which has to be a record. I could well do without the stress. I will feel happier tomorrow when I log on to the Post Office's website and it confirms delivery, and happier still when the University's website also confirms receipt of the assessment.
All I have to do after that is to wait until nearly Christmas for the results!
